The years have passed gracefully since that winter night in 2005 at the old Lime Spider (now The Lockview) in Akron when a young singer/songwriter named Ryan Humbert opened for John Eddie on a twin bill that just happened […]
Offering a heavy dose of Americana and twang about album reviews, concert previews, local musicians, and singer/songwriters. I have been writing Minkin’s Music since January of 2007 and found a home here on ND in 2010. My musical resume includes being the very first and longest corporate underwriter on public radio station WAPS 91.3 The Summit, a board member of the auxiliary group Plugged In at The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, the Northeast Ohio street team captain for Lost Highway Records, and a former board member of Friends of 91.3 The Summit. I am a Charter Member of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, a voting member of the Americana Music Association, and a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum in Nashville. A man who still plays Lp’s on his vintage Technics turntable, you can usually find Jay at area concerts and record stores looking to find new music that stirs his soul. Find my liner note postings on Facebook and Twitter via Minkin's Music.

Dear Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, Museum, and voting members: It’s a shame that at a time when we should be celebrating and ecstatic, many folks are unhappy and bewildered with the Hall of Fame Induction Class of […]

Who is a folk singer? Well some may say that they write words and music from the heart, their audience thinks about what’s being heard in their mind, and the message is spread by both the artist and listener throughout […]
