Nina Ricci is modern American folksinger, songwriter, and guitarist. She desires to write and perform music that is meaningful to the hearts of people and that is lasting: making an impression in its time and for the future. Nina describes herself as a “folksinger,†because she holds that folk music is music “of the people, for the people†containing stories of human life, love, and faith, that have depth, richness, and value. She maintains that the best folk music has tenacity.
Nina's music is not consistently traditional but rather is rooted there and comingles with other well-rooted genres and artistic opportunities. Her music is influenced by diverse idioms: Appalachian Folk music derived from English, Scottish, and Irish roots, popular Jazz and Blues music of the 1930’s and 1940’s, Revivalist Folk of the 1960’s, heartfelt songwriter’s of the 60’s and 70’s, classic and theatrical rock from the 60’s-80’s; as well as rustic, barely documented American Folk music.
Nina graduated from the prestigious Berklee College of Music in 2014 holding a degree in Professional Music with concentrations in performance, songwriting, and music business and a minor in American Roots Music. She is a member of the Americana Music Association and currently lives in Nashville, Tennessee.
