Drawing on a range of country styles from Americana to traditional, pop to rock, Catherine Britt has produced a strong collection of songs on her sixth album. The opening title track gets things off to a rollicking and raw start […]
Post To Wire is a blog dedicated to the different strands of Americana music. We publish reviews, interviews, news and multimedia content from country, folk, blues and roots artists from Australia, New Zealand and around the world.
After creating and publishing the music website Doubtful Sounds I found that I was also driven to developing a secondary blog focusing exclusively on Americana music. A life long Neil Young obsession started it all for me and led me into a musical world that included the likes of Wilco, Richmond Fontaine, Ryan Adams, Hank Williams, Karen Dalton, Nick Drake, Will Oldham, Jason Molina, Lucinda Williams, The Felice Brothers, Loretta Lynn, Gillian Welch, Lambchop, Howe Gelb, The Band, Drive-By Truckers, Townes Van Zandt and a thousand other musicians. This is music that is heartfelt, emotionally rich and sonically thrilling, from the most ramshackle hoedown to a single plaintiff guitar and voice it is music that speaks from and to the soul.
All correspondence including music submissions, gig listing and general feedback should be directed to posttowire(at)iprimus.com.au

Over the last few years Liam Gale’s sound has evolved into a darker and more hypnotic form of psychedelic folk and blues music, culminating in the majestic and hypnotic The Lonely Throne. There are shades of Devendra Barnhart and Tim […]
Ryan Adams talks to Chris Familton about his new self-titled album, his struggle with Ménière’s disease and his PAX-AM label and recording studio. Ryan Adams has always resisted any temptation or peer pressure to become an alt-country purist after he […]
Queensland songwriter Brad Butcher certainly doesn’t take too many risks, nor does he hit too many emotional highs on Jamestown. His style is a calm and measured approach to his music but too often that is a recipe for songs blending […]
