The Morrisons live at Lost Highway Records Presents: Country & Inner Western @ The Basement, Sydney Australia.
Post To Wire is a blog dedicated to the different strands of Americana music. We publish reviews, interviews, news and multimedia content from country, folk, blues and roots artists from Australia, New Zealand and around the world.
After creating and publishing the music website Doubtful Sounds I found that I was also driven to developing a secondary blog focusing exclusively on Americana music. A life long Neil Young obsession started it all for me and led me into a musical world that included the likes of Wilco, Richmond Fontaine, Ryan Adams, Hank Williams, Karen Dalton, Nick Drake, Will Oldham, Jason Molina, Lucinda Williams, The Felice Brothers, Loretta Lynn, Gillian Welch, Lambchop, Howe Gelb, The Band, Drive-By Truckers, Townes Van Zandt and a thousand other musicians. This is music that is heartfelt, emotionally rich and sonically thrilling, from the most ramshackle hoedown to a single plaintiff guitar and voice it is music that speaks from and to the soul.
All correspondence including music submissions, gig listing and general feedback should be directed to posttowire(at)iprimus.com.au

Melbourne’s Lost Ragas set the scene early with a set that felt more low-key than some of their other recent shows but it was by no means any less captivating. Their sound was a widescreen take on soulful blues and country with […]

In New Zealand over the last five years there’s been a noticeable groundswell of talented alt.country/Americana songwriters and musicians releasing albums to rival the best coming from overseas. Tiny Ruins, The Eastern, Aldous Harding, Bernie Griffen, Tami Neilsen, Marlon Williams […]
It was Ryan Bingham’s visit to Australia last year that made me a believer. Prior to that I’d shown mild interest but I’d written him off as something of a generic journeyman troubadour. On stage he flipped that preconception and […]
Like a straighter American cousin to C.W. Stoneking’s more esoteric old-timey sound, Pokey LaFarge blends all manner of traditional musical forms – from jazz and swing to folk, country, doo-wop and mariachi. It’s all woven together in LaFarge’s authentic style […]
Throw The Band and The Felice Brothers into a roots music blender and you’ll end up with something resembling Houndmouth. On their second album they’ve taken their already impressive Americana sound to another level with rousing, infectious choruses, heartbreaking harmonies […]
