Big Bruce Playlist for 02/17/09: Slim & His Golden Bar Rangers

Howdy folks,

I do a “classic country” radio show on the local campus station here in Hamilton (just down the road from Chesley!) It’s pretty much yer standard classic C&W stash, except I’m big on regional acts: Harold MacIntyre, Mark LaForme, Neon Rain, Scotty Campbell, Stompin’ Tom, etc

On the last program , I aired a vintage (circa 1957) old-time 15 min. broadcast of Slim & His Golden Rangers, a cowboy/western swing big band that used to work the Eastern Ontario circuit in the ’50s, & had a regular spot on Cornwall radio station CKSF . Anyway, I managed to get a hold of one of the few surviving transcripts of the show. It is a national treasure.
