• Bob Dylan’s autumn tour announced, pre-sale information here (Updated)

    Earlier today, Bob Dylan’s official website listed 26 additional concerts to take place in the southern U.S. states this fall. These dates were added to three previously announced shows – two opening for the Rolling Stones at “Desert Trip” (also known as “Dadchella”) on October 7 and 14, and the recently announced Thackerville, Oklahoma, concert at the WinStar World Casino and Resort on October 22. Tickets are already on sale for these dates.

    The new shows, all post-“Desert Trip,” begin in Phoenix, Arizona, on October 16, wind through New Mexico, two gigs in Texas (including an October 20 date in Lubbock, home of Buddy Holly, a major influence on Dylan), Tulsa, Oklahoma, where Dylan’s archives will be stored, east through Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Kentucky, West Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, back to Tennessee, Alabama, and finishing with five dates in Florida. The tour is currently scheduled to end on November 23. Notably, Dylan will not be performing on Election Day, November 8, nor the Jewish High Holidays in October. (Thanks, Seth Rogovoy.) 

    According to Dylan’s website, tickets for all new shows go on sale August 12, except for the Ruth Eckerd Hall date in Clearwater, Florida, on November 19, which goes on sale August 13. There are also pre-sales for the 13 dates listed so far on Ticketmaster.com. Pre-sales for Ft. Lauderdale begin on August 9, Knoxville and Chattanooga, TN, Asheville, NC, and Jacksonville, FL, begin on August 10. Pre-sales for El Paso, TX, Shreveport and Baton Rouge, LA, Huntsville, AL, Durham, NC, Columbia, SC, Birmingham, AL, and Mobile, AL, start on August 11. Passwords are usually posted on Dylan’s official site the morning of the pre-sale. However, these venues apparently have other, exclusive pre-sales.

    Tickets for some shows may not be sold through Ticketmaster. One example is the Tulsa, Oklahoma, October 23 show at the Brady Theater. Apparently, tickets for this show will be sold through ProTix.

    According to Ticketmaster, the ticket prices will range from about $39.50  to $129.75, plus service charges, depending on the venue. VIP Packages for certain shows will also be available. A complete list of Dylan concerts announced to far can be found on the artist’s “On Tour” page:
