Nat Myers
It’s been a rough few months for the roots music community: fires, floods, illness, and loss. The latest addition to the list is blues picker extraordinaire Nat Myers, who was recently diagnosed with sarcoma, a rare type of cancer and was just re-admitted to the ER with complications. He’s raising funds through GoFundMe to cover medical costs and lost income from cancelled gigs. If you’re unfamiliar with Myers’ music, check out the music video for “Yellow Peril,” the title track from his debut album. And if you don’t have the wherewithal to donate, consider streaming or buying the album.
Charley Crockett
Ahead of the release of his latest album, Lonesome Drifter, Charley Crockett is giving away 100,000 free four-song CD samplers in major cities and various locations across the country. The move is a throwback to the way he started out, handing out his self-released debut, Stolen Jewel, for free. Lonesome Drifter, which was co-produced by Crockett and Shooter Jennings, is out March 14th via Island Records.
