Brandi Carlile to Release New Album ‘By the Way, I Forgive You’
Brandi Carlile’s 2015 album The Firewatcher’s Daughter was one of our favorite albums at ND, and earned the singer-songwriter critical acclaim from plenty of other outlets (not to mention love from plenty of fans), too. This week she announced the follow-up to that album, and we’re pretty stoked about it.
By the Way, I Forgive You is due out via Low Country Sound, an imprint of Elektra run by producer Dave Cobb, on February 16. Cobb produced the album alongside Shooter Jennings, and the album will be Low Country Sound’s first release. Carlile and company recorded the album at Nashville’s historic RCA Studio A. Longtime collaborators Tim and Phil Hanseroth were also on hand, and co-wrote the album’s songs with Carlile.
Along with the album announcement, Carlile also shared the album’s first single, “The Joke,” and revealed a string of tour dates in support of the new release. By the Way, I Forgive You follows The Firewatcher’s Daughter as well as another 2017 release from Carlile, a 10th anniversary edition of her landmark sophomore album The Story called Cover Stories: Brandi Carlile Celebrates 10 Years of the Story (An Album to Benefit War Child).
