Brittany Howard of Alabama Shakes Announces New Project
As NPR Music reports, Brittany Howard of the Alabama Shakes is now one third of a brand new trio, called Bermuda Triangle.
While little official information is available about the new band, joining Howard in rounding out the trio are Becca Mancari and Jesse Lafser, both of whom are well established in Nashville’s songwriter scene. Howard and Lafser have collaborated in the past for the latter’s “Jack Hat Blues” music video, while Mancari has sung Howard’s praises in past interviews.
Bermuda Triangle will make their debut at a July 12 performance at Nashville venue the Basement East. No music is available online yet, although the below video posted to Mancari’s Instagram may give a small taste of what fans can expect, or it could just be meant to add to the building mystery. Mancari told NPR, “It’s the music that I remember that I used to play before I even came to Nashville, when people just played for fun. That’s my side of the story at least.”
Howard first came to fame with the Alabama Shakes, whose most recent album Sound and Color came out in 2015. She is also part of the rock band Thunderbitch.
