Brooklyn Bluegrass Bash Announced – Line-Up Includes Chris Thile, Tony Trischka, Andy Statman, Aoife O’Donovan and Noam Pikelny
The brightest lights of Brooklyn’s bluegrass scene are coming together on Sunday, September 23 to help restore an historic, landmark Park Slope church, the “Old First.” The number of players and pairings makes this Brooklyn Bluegrass Bash historic in its own right. The Bell House in Gowanus hosts the Bash from 2pm to 7pm.
Chris Thile pairs with Michael Daves in an outing of their Grammy-nominated duo; Tony Trischka appears with Territory fresh from his appearance at Shakespeare in the Park; the Andy Statman Trio adds incomparable interpretations of musical traditions near and far; and Aoife O’Donovan joins Punch Brothers Noam Pikelny, and Chris Eldrige to form an intriguing trio. Kristin Andreassen, The Calamity Janes, the Bilger Family, Jen Larson and Kenny Kosek support, and actor Peter Sarsgaard will emcee the proceedings.
