Canada Day in London 2012
Just back from the Canada Day celebrations in Central London, which took place in Trafalgar Square almost adjacent to Canada House. The music was split into two sessions but my focus was on the Canadian ladies who all appeared on stage together and effectively ‘passed the baton’ between them until the encores when they all sang together
First up was Rose Cousins, my favourite singer-songwriter du jour, then the baton passed to Sarah McDougal (who I had not heard before), Cara Luft, the brilliant Amelia Curran and then Ladies of the Canyon, each taking it in turns and singing three songs before the group finale. Rose Cousins can do no wrong in my eyes, with her exquisite songs and insightful songs
