Hey Canadians, and those interested in Canadiana:
Our Canadian Folk Music Online magazine went this week, and old issues from 2000-2009 can be accessed here. I have an article in the latest issue on the Calgary Folk Festival, and I’m taking over as the Music Online magazine editor this year. My first issue as an editor should come out in August, featuring articles on bluegrass in Toronto, the Mariposa Folk Festival, and an interview with Toronto band The Box Car Boys.
Although it is a publication of an academic society, The Canadian Society for Traditional Music, CFM aims to reach a broad audience with a variety of articles by Canadian ethnomusicologists and folk song collectors.
