Christopher Paul Stelling: Modern Day Troubadour
This week’s column is dedicated to modern day troubadour Christopher Paul Stelling.
His music channels the restless spirit of a person who left home to travel the country, as he writes haunting and impassioned songs. His music is informed by endless nights alone on stage with a guitar, playing sometimes to packed houses, other times to nearly empty rooms. His voice somehow sounds both old and young, and his guitar finger-picking style is intricate yet looks effortless. His lyrics are dramatic and intensely confessional.
Check out the videos I’ve selected this week, for all of that and more.
