    What a magnificent show. Saw The Machine last year when it was just David & Gillian. The new full band with members of Old Crow Medicine Show was a sweet addition. Nothing crazy like amps or drums though.

    I would have a hard time imagining a better and more entertaining musical experience. Everyone was having a great time. Performers and audience. Warren Hellman joined on banjo to close out the first set saying it was his first time on stage at The Fillmore. In case you don’t know, Warren is the benefactor providing San Francisco with Hardly Strictly Bluegrass every October.

    Peter Rowan joined the band for a song and came back for encores along with Sean Watkins. Sent us home with “The Weight” just like at the end of the Gillian Welch set at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass last October. I don’t know if I have ever felt a more demonstratively appreciative Fillmore audience.
