Download Sarah Jarosz’s ‘Song Up In Her Head’ CD for $1.99 on Thursday, Jan. 21, Only!
In general, this scribe isn’t one to push info that looks like nothing more than a promotion, but when it comes to scoring Americana teen-queen Sarah Jarosz‘s debut album for a bargain price, well, I have to share the news with music fans.
Specifically, Jarosz’s Grammy-nominated CD titled Song Up In Her Head will be available online via Amazon in MP3 format for a penny under $2–and for one day only, Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010, at that site’s “Daily Deal.”
For those curious about the 13-tune disc, it was listed at No. 17 on Amazon’s list of 2009’s top albums, with “Tell Me True” single listed as Amazon’s No. 1 country song of the year.
Additionally, the record’s title track, “Song Up In Her Head,” was Folk Alley’s No. 3 folk song of the year, while the “Mansinneedof” track is currently a Grammy nominee for Best Country Instrumental.
Interestingly enough, however, Jarosz’s CD isn’t a true country album–never mind the accolades it’s getting in said category. In fact, per the artist’s Sugar Hill label rep, when it comes to Jarosz’s debut offering don’t think country; instead, “think Nickel Creek/Gillian Welch.”
