Easy Ed’s Weekly Broadside
Some may call this writer’s block. But it goes far beyond that. Today is the day after I had back surgery, and if I’m reading these post-op directions correctly, number eleven clearly states ‘Under no circumstance should you post on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter about this procedure.’ Which made me remember those three little questions writers should always ask themselves before publishing.
And then I forgot them.
I’m blaming it on the drugs. According to Wikipedia, I’ve been prescribed a a semi-synthetic opioid synthesized from poppy-derived thebaine. In the (long) list of warnings and side effects it says right at the very top that it can stop your breathing. As far as I can tell, I’ve yet to be afflicted by that problem. But memory loss and sheer stupidity? I’m in.
I know…you want to read about music and stuff, or at least more music and less stuff. And I’ve tried hard to accommodate your needs, but after hours of watching back to back episodes of Boardwalk Empire and Sons of Anarchy, I’m done.
But don’t go away yet. Stay for a few minutes.
Back in the Kyla Years of No Depression, I was one of the occasional moderators of the Facebook page. As such, until the change of ownership, I came up with something I called Video Sundays. For those of you who’ve forgotten or never network socially, I’d post four or five clips each weekend. Sometimes they were random, other times they were timely.
So this week, after a rambling pre-amble, I give you a few clips in no particular order. Searching for them has kept me amused and entertained this afternoon, and I hope you enjoy them as well. See ya’ next week. I hope. (The first one goes out to Hal. Yep…we do dedications here at the Broadside.)
