Ern’s Yonder Mountain String Band’s Harvest Music Festival Update
This year’s Yonder Mountain String Band’s Harvest Music Festival and first ever instrument contest promises to be the best yet in Americana/Roots music and will feature the Yonder Mountain String Band, The Travillin McCourys, Greencards, 7 Walkers featuring Papa Mali and Bill Kreutzmann, Sara Watkins, Railroad Earth, the Wilders, Todd Snider, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, James McMurtry and many many more plus the first ever pickin’ contests for flatpick guitar, fiddle, banjo and mandolin. I’ll be the emcee for the contest events and I’ll keep you posted about the contests, the entertainers, the atmosphere and the all night jams deep in the heart of the Ozarks, at Mulberry Mountain, just twenty or so steep, twisting miles north of Ozark, Arkansaw! Pass it around and check out the website, www.yonderharvestfestival.com, my blog here for info and musings! That’s the second weekend in October, October 13-16. Remember, admission will be limited to 7,500 and you must have a valid ticket to enter the contests. Prizes will be announced later.
A note about the pickin’ contests, all of the rules are on the website, just click “activities” and it’s all right there. Remember, you can register up to fifteen minutes before the event begins. You must have a valid festival ticket to enter. Entry fees are ten dollars. You can enter online up till Oct. 7.
