I ventured out on a Monday night recently to see the Felice Brothers play their haunting, quiet & breathtaking songs. Boy, was I surprised! I didn’t check youtube prior to the show. It was an all-out rock and roll extravaganza. They had the usually laid back midwest crowd dancing and singing the entire set. I fell in love with their s/t record while on a trip to Alaska last summer. I since picked up their first record and both have become favorites from the last year. I also see that they have a new one coming out soon.
Check this band out live. They’re a combination of the Band and the Replacements. Bob Dylan/Rolling Thunder and Townes Van Zandt. (they covered Townes’ “Two Hands” that night, a full-on revival tent gospel gem)
