FreshGrass Foundation’s #FreshStreams to Kick Off with Sarah Jarosz, Amythyst Kiah, and More
Like many other events this month, FreshGrass’ inaugural Bentonville | FreshGrass festival in Arkansas was called off due to coronavirus precautions.
But, as they say in the business, the show must go on, so the FreshGrass Foundation — the parent 501(c)(3) organization of No Depression — is launching #FreshStreams, a curated series of livestreamed performances.
The first one will take place at 8 p.m. ET this Monday, April 27, on the FreshGrass Festival Facebook page. (It will also be streamed from the Facebook pages of No Depression and Folk Alley.) Hosted by the FreshGrass Foundation’s Hilarie Spangler, the hourlong event will feature musical performances by Amythyst Kiah and Sarah Jarosz as well as a report from the small-business side of the music industry from guitarmaker Aviva Steigmeyer of Fayetteville, Arkansas.
The $15 suggested donation will benefit the artists as well as the FreshGrass Foundation, which is committed to preserving, supporting, and creating innovative grassroots music through the FreshGrass Festivals in Bentonville and North Adams, Massachusetts; No Depression; and Folk Alley.
