FRESH TRACK: Brad Tursi – “Parallel Love”
Brad Tursi didn’t set out to excavate the linear on Parallel Love. But the songwriter/guitarist wanted to create a song cycle that reflects a rambler’s life, considers what love from a drifter’s point of view looks like. For the Connecticut born musician, who found his grounding between Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jeff Buckley’s Grace and Neil Young’s acoustic albums, the way life is beautiful if you’ll take it on its terms and the visceral way places and moments can cut into you becomes visceral on this live performance which includes “Question the Universe,” “Parallel Love,” and “Lover And A Friend.”
“I’m not very afraid of being vulnerable,” Tursi offers. “You kind of get over that once you start playing in front of people. As an artist, you want to share those things with people… you want them to feel this music, to get what’s underneath the lyrics as much as what’s said.”
