Gestures & Sounds Debut Glorious New Video for “Bum Scotch Loser”
Gestures & Sounds are one of the hottest bands tearing up the West Coast right now, and their infectious sound is starting to take them into new territory. Today the band debuts their glorious video for “Bum Scotch Loser,” which has us head over heels for the indie-pop infused act.
The video which was crafted by the group themselves set the stage for a 10 year high school reunion which makes us uncomfortable in the best way possible. The band’s unique energy and charm bring a vibrancy to the video that is skillfully created from their artistic vision.
Gestures & Sounds state regarding the video:
“The music video for Bum Scotch Loser is set at a 10 year class reunion. We follow a character as he dips and dives from one conversation to the next. Being visual effects artists we wanted to use our skills to create a surrealist look at the lead character’s social anxiety and how it pushes him around uncomfortably through the reunion.
We’re known for the crazy visual effects we base our music videos around, but Bum Scotch Loser is our first video that uses our effects to tell the story. Here, pianos explode, bottles are impossibly tossed, and characters act oddly to create a dream-like class reunion setting that shows how we as a band would respond to that situation.”
Built out of a long-standing friendship, film school and late night jam sessions, Gestures & Sounds were born. Getting ready to release their new release “Lightning is the Name of a Dog,” on November 16, we’re eager to hear more from the band as we keep a close eye on them heading into the New Year.
