girlyman’s “supernova” revisited

in may there was a review of girlyman’s-“supernova” album. after many listens i cannot agree with the review. this is one of the best releases of 2012. it is hard to capture their live sound on record, but the songwriting is so strong here it can’t be ignored. i like the variety of harmony styles used and would probably get bored if they did the same thing every time. the sign of a great album can be found in a few ways. if the songs hit you at different times some immediate others growing over repeated listens that speaks volumes. if everyone that hears the album says “wow” without prompting this also means something. if you can’t get it off your i-pod no matter what else you hear there must be something there. my 12 year old daughter has very good ears and tastes in music and she also can’t stop listening to it. hence another point of view of girlyman’s-“supernova”         9.5 out of 10.
