Grammy Awards 2017: The Roots Music Winners List
Oh, goodness. The 2017 Grammy Awards have arrived. For many in the No Depression audience, the Grammys have not mattered a ton for the past several… decades? But in an interesting turn of events, Americana and American roots music have made increasing strides on the awards circuit, and on the Billboard charts. Even one of our own, Sturgill Simpson, has been nominated for Album of the Year.
I’ll be updating this post throughout the evening with every Americana/roots-adjacent Grammy winner. Tune into the Grammys Preview Show right here, and follow our live commentary on Twitter.
The 2017 Grammy Awards air tonight on CBS at 8 p.m. For a full list of roots music nominees, click here.
