Gulf Songs Oregon has been presenting a series of benefit concerts this summer around Portland. Lover’s of the music rooted in the gulf areas have been lending hands and instruments to this cause. Friday July 30th Billy D and the Hoodoos and Rich Layton and the Troublemakers played Duff’s Garage. The crowd was good and the dance floor often full for some heaping servings of honky tonk, blues, and some serious rave ups. I had never seen either band and enjoyed both sets immensely. I hear Billy D and the Hoodoos are new to Portland – welcome guys! Thanks for chipping in so quick! Both bands – glad to know you.
