Hearth Music and the iPad (or iPod or iPhone)
So if you spend any length of time on the web today, you will have heard that Apple finally debuted their much-anticipated game-changer: the iPad. While it’s not the most imaginatively named product, its revolutionary interface and ease of use will probably do to the laptop what the iPod did to the Walkman.
Yes, the digital revolution has just about toppled the status quo, and what an exciting new world we’re living in! Now you can have even the most obscure music in the world streamed instantly to a device that you can bring on the bus. Now any musician with a couple bucks and a few ounces of ambition can get their music up online and available to everyone.
BUT: That doesn’t mean that there isn’t room to improve! So we here at Hearth Music are pleased to announce our brand-new Online Listening Lounge. Designed to provide you with great music with a simple click of a button, the Listening Lounge will help you discover your new favorite artist.
And it’s built with iPad technology in mind (and iPhone/iPod too!). Every artist in the Listening Lounge has graciously agreed to provide two tracks for free download. All you have to do is right-click and save the tracks to your computer. You can also effortlessly stream three additional tracks. And buying the album is always a quick and easy way to get all the music to your device.
Our top-secret plan (sshhh, don’t tell anyone) will be to provide free video as well. We’re all incredibly tired of the pixelated, halting, crap-quality videos that YouTube has cursed us with, and with hard drive space heading into the terabytes, there’s no reason we shouldn’t be able to download our favorite artist’s cool videos to our portable devices.
Check out this cool Vimeo video that we wish we could download!

Yep, it’s a brave new world out there, and there’s never been a better time to connect to an international community of Roots/Americana/World music lovers!
