Henson Cargill, known principally for his 1968 #1 hit “Skip A Rope”, died March 24 of complications from surgery. He had hosted the nationally syndicated TV show “The Country Hayride” and toured with the Kimberleys before his solo career. He had also been a private investigator, a deputy sheriff, and a champion calf roper. He was 66.
