• Hi-Beams Honky Tonkin’ over the Mountain

    My old Front Range friends from Halden Wofford & the Hi-Beams came over the mountain to play a couple shows at Durango and Cortez, Colorado, and then down to Taos, New Mexico.  The good fellows at KSUT Four Corners Public Radio gave ’em a mid-afternoon acoustic promote, but for me work intruded so I had to wait for Friday night.  We caught the show at the Durango Arts Center, an upbeat mix of classic country and Halden Wofford originals.  Music fit for two-step.  Good stuff, including this cover of Don Walser’s “Rolling Stone from Texas”: 

     

     

     

     

     

    If you find yourself in the Greater Metropolitan Denver-Fort Collins area, watch for them at the Swing Station in LaPorte the first weekend in December, then at the Skylark Lounge in Denver and The Barn in Longmont.
