Hot Rize Reunited
(From Press Release) Following the death of co-founder Charles Sawtelle, the influential bluegrass band Hot Rize disbanded but regrouped in 2002 to play select performances over the last few years. In that time Tim O’brien has performed regularly under his own name and Pete Wernick has taken the stage with his wife Joan and also performs with the groups Flexigrass, Long Road Home and Steve Martin. Nick Forster hosts the popular weekly eTown broadcasts and tours with the group 30db.
Wernick said in a statement “The world is ready for a revisit from Hot Rize, in the rare times we’ve reunited for one-off performances, we’ve seen a level of enthusiasm that’s been hard to ignore.” Hot Rize’s confirmed fall tour dates are listed below.
