Howard Stern and the Carolina Chocolate Drops
That’s some hot “castanet” playing!
Just heard that the Carolina Chocolate Drops got “featured” on Howard Stern’s radio show. By featured, we mean that he played a whole track and tried desperately to figure out what the hell they were doing. I guess for someone with little knowledge of the roots of American music, the Carolina Chocolate Drops must seem pretty strange. Then again, Stern’s crew made some pretty good points. The track did sound kinda like subway music, and I could totally see Iron Man facing off against Whiplash on the big screen with the Drops in the background. So maybe Howard Stern’s on to something. But probably not… In any case, it’s pretty funny and really stupid:
