Industry Nights Start Up on NYC’s Lower East Side
Grab a cocktail (on the house), unload after work and schmooze while you do yourself a favor and get acquainted with the brightest and newest in NYC’s music scene! Last night was part two, of Effective Immediately PR’s Media/Industry Night, co-hosted by The Delancey on Manhattan’s LES. The ongoing venture will be from 6-8:30pm each Thursday and group two artists together in a themed night. Pairing Chris Riffle and Nick Deutsch last night, complimented each other as a snowy salute to softer rock. Both artists debuted new videos during their 30 minute sets. Chris Riffle’s melodic songs were soothing and effortless. Chris’s soft voice had a commanding presence on stage alone with only a bass player. Nick Deutsch’s music had a little more edge, while drawing comparisons to Adam Levine of Maroon 5 in sound and embodiment. The light effects added some dimension to the lyrics and sound of the three piece band.
The inaugural event last week showed the diversity, yet small music world, grouping two studio-mates Ten Ton Man and the Hoochie Coochie Men. Each group rocked out to each others set and gained some new fans along the way. TTM can truly command an audience with their rock, urban, 40’s era vibe. Foot-stomping rock that was recorded in Brooklyn started off the first EI-PR industry night! Showcasing the gritty sound the group is known for, the 3 Paul(s) of TTM played tracks off their latest EP Chunk of Change.
The smooth, silky vocals of Joey, lead singer of HCM, the rock, folk 5-piece band, are captivating. HCM are coming to terms with their sound and putting out catchy, chilling, songs with relate-able deep lyrics that engaged the viewers on the casual, retro couches of The Delancey. The refreshing sound of the 5 piece band HCM ended the night on a high note as the crowd interacted and approached the friendly group after their set. A plethra of rave reviews for the Big Blue Tree EP are still coming after the HCM’s latest tour this past year.
Be sure to stop by for next Thursdays even pairing Indie Pop Female artists!
