An Afternoon with Emi Sunshine and the Rain
All the way from Madisonville, TN, to Spartanburg’s Boiling Springs Ale House comes the sound of classic bluegrass and true country music. Standing room only, leading the band is Emi Sunshine Hamilton herself, only 12 years old, who has recently rocketed into the national spotlight after a viral video caught the attention of the Today show. After performing live on Today, Emi Sunshine and the Rain became an instant sensation, and has already played the Grand Ole Opry thirteen times, with legends such as Marty Stuart and others. She’s also played the historic Ryman Theater, of all places.
Her sweet, down home personality makes her not only adorable, but approachable to fans of all ages. Expect to see great things from this young lady, her family, and her friends. Backing her up on the upright bass, her “Diddy” is a loving father with a beard that would make many men jealous. “Uncle” Bobby keeps good time with his percussion, and has a few stories of his own to tell. Her brother Robbie plays a mean mandolin. Emi Sunshine herself mans the ukelele, and has been learning to play the guitar, which she has recently incorporated into her recent shows.
A very talented young lady, backed by a close family and strong network of friends, Emi Sunshine is taking the nation by storm, and if you ever get the chance to see them, by all means…you must.
