Introducing The Twilite Broadcasters!
One year ago The Twilite Broadcasters began to sing together.
A common love for the music of The Louvin Brothers,Monroe Brothers and The Harmony singing of Buck Owens and Don Rich inspired the Duet to try and dust off some classic and obscure songs and add our own flavor. Years of playing Rock music (for both of us) shade what we do in a subtle way I think.
Our Debut recording entitled “Evening Shade” contains songs by the artists listed above as well as songs by, The Delmore Brothers,The Everly Brothers and Doug Kershaw.
It was important to us to use old microphones and preamps to capture our Harmony blend and the woody warm sound of our vintage instruments(1957 Gibson J45 and a 1928 Gibson F4)
Engineer Clay Blair at Altamont Studios in Asheville NC had the vision to use not only the old German microphones the studio has on hand but also the old plate reverb that was once state of the art in many studios of yesteryear.
After much thought, we decided to not use guest musicians, we wanted to keep the sound stripped down .
In retrospect I am glad we decided to stay true to the form and can now offer audiences exactly what we have recorded.
We have posted video content and some songs from the CD and would love to hear from the No Depression community!
Thanks,Mark and Adam,
The Twilite Broadcasters.
