What an embarrassment of riches we’ve gotten in terms of new releases this season, from some of the finest artists on the scene — those who have been around for decades, and those who are just finding their footing. This week is no exception, as we get to revisit with the Queen, Mahalia Jackson, even as we get brand new stuff from Dawes, John McEuen (of Nitty Gritty Dirt Band), and the great, inimitable Bobby Rush. If you’re not shaking a leg, you need to crank up the music.
