J. Charles & the Trainrobbers
So….. I get an email from a dude named Steve Visneau, and he proceeds to tell me of a new project involving he, Omar YeeFoon and Jeff Saenz. Steve then asked if I’d be interested in coming by to check it out and jam. I said “sure,” I really had nothing going musically since the “Pistoleros.”
Let me back-track a little bit….
Last year (a year ago to be exact), a dude named Chris Zalez and I sat in a basement bar in the Fort Worth Stockyards and conceived the beginnings of a band that would become “Chris Zalez and the Pistoleros.” He was being removed from his position in the Tejas Brothers, and I was two months removed from Eleven Hundred Springs. Both “Removals” were “deserved” since neither one of us were “Enjoying” our former surroundings.
We felt we could be different from our former surroundings, and kick some ass and get some new fans in the meanwhile.. Well.. It started taking off. The band was formed and we were on our way to achieve “Musical Greatness!”
Fast forward to September and I’m not a Pistolero anymore. I don’t dig Bi-Polar musicians. Or Ego-maniacs for that matter. So I got back to Steve and we set up a day to jam. I was needless to say, blown away. They are loud… But they are talented, fun and kick some serious ass. I was what they were looking for, and they were what I was looking for.
If you get a chance, check us out……
This group is different then anything that I have ever done musically, and I am looking forward to the future.
