I am so fortunate to have so very many talented friends, acquaintances, and accomplices. One of them that you may have sadly not yet heard of is the wonderful John-Alex Mason. His new record Jook Joint Thunder Clap is just coming out, and he shall be touring (looks like mostly the South on his site so far and lots of his current stomping grounds of Colorado). John-ALex is a one man blues machine. He plays guitar (including cigar box amongst others), kicks drums, and sings all at once, and makes a divine racket, inspired by the greatest bluesmen in history, both north and south, a touch or rap, and his own heart felt reflection on life and the human condition. Dude, listen to the record (cool cover by famed poster/cover artist Gary Houston of Voodoo Catbox, too), and remember that many of those tracks are just him. And, he really delivers it live, too.
