Julie Lee & The Baby Daddies out March 6
I’ve had the best luck to work with some of the nicest and most humble artists, which is the gift of working with this genre. (I started my career in 1990 on Music Row, which you know, to put it mildly – is different).
I love Julie Lee… one of the most enchanting voices, a fantastic songwriter and a beautiful spirit. She released her seventh album last week, with a great show at the Station Inn where she was joined by the real baby daddies – her band that included Kenny Vaughan and Mike Bubb, whom she babysat for the past couple of years to supplement income. Indicative of the kind of community that is roots music – they said they would back her if she would get out and play again. Thus the “Baby Daddies” were born.
On Julie Lee & The Baby-Daddies, Lee’s lauded and versatile mezzo-soprano inhabits songs inspired by all forms of Americana music, backed by the original Baby Daddies, as well as with special guests Alison Krauss, Tim O’Brien, Ron Block, and Sarah Siskind among others.
