Loose Associations, Starting with the Supersuckers
This week, I’m welcoming a new podcast to Podcast Corner. Dirty Roots features interviews with the edgier end of the roots music continuum. The podcasts of theirs featured this week loosely connect to one another. We start with the Supersuckers (Eddie Spaghetti’s band) before reaching out via Steve Earle (with whom the Supersuckers recorded “Angel Is the Devil” in 1997) to Webb Wilder (who covered “It Came From Nashville” in 1986).
The hexagon image accurately reflects much of roots music, where nearly every songwriter is within two degrees of separation. It really is a small world.
Listen to the podcasts by clicking forward on the image slider until you see the show you would like to hear. Open that page, and you can stream, download, or connect to the podcast itself. If you want to hear about roots music podcasts more often, click that red “Follow” button at the top of this page.
Enjoy!
