Margo Price is always full of (delightful!) surprises, and in these hard times she’s wrapped up one more: a new live album, out today, titled Perfectly Imperfect at The Ryman.
The songs, recorded live during her three-night run of sold-out shows at Ryman Auditorium in 2018, feature special guests including Emmylou Harris, Sturgill Simpson, and Jack White.
Perfectly Imperfect at The Ryman is being released exclusively on Bandcamp, with proceeds going to MusiCares’ COVID-19 Relief Fund.
“I am so excited that we are releasing it today,” she said in the album’s announcement. “The recordings are rough and the performances are raw, but there was a magic there and the band was on fire. We played unreleased songs, alternative album versions and had lots of special guests. I hope it moves you.”
Earlier this year, Price announced a rock record titled That’s How Rumors Get Started (see ND story). Originally planned for release May 8, the album has been pushed back to “summer” amid COVID-19 shutdowns and stalled vinyl production.
