Meet Bobby Long
This might be a personal record for me. I received an email about this guy maybe ten minutes ago, and here I am sharing his work with you. Some really beautiful stuff here, and heartbreaking. His voice reminds me of Kenny Rogers somehow, but his groove is a little more in the vein of a Jackson Brown-type of singer-songwriter. He has a new record, A Winter Tale, dropping February 1. Something to look for. Perhaps I’ll follow this with a review once I’ve had a chance to sit with the disc for a while.
In the meantime, here’s his official bio, from his website:
Bobby Long is a singer/songwriter from Calne, Wiltshire, South West England. He moved to London to pursue his musical career and is currently on a multi-national tour through United States and Europe. He likens his music to “drops of rain on a bull fighter’s back, like punches breaking through a Windy Gail.”
Bobby is most well-known for his work on the Twilight Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, which featured his song, “Let Me Sign,” co-written with fellow musician Marcus Foster and performed by star Robert Pattinson. The album has since gone on to win the American Music Award for Best Soundtrack.
I don’t have a whole lot to add. Just learning about this guy, but thought his work was well worth sharing. There are a few more videos of his work in the videos section of this site, if you want to hear more.
