Mollie O’Brien and Rich Moore
I’m a lucky publicist, I get to work with some of the nicest, most easy-going artists out there – probably because I stick to American Roots music and have learned to seek out people who inspire me to work and get my jokes. I’m double-glad Mollie and Rich are on the road – they’ll be on Folk Alley, Woodsongs, Mountain Stage and the Blue Plate Special soon. And doing shows in Roanoke, Atlanta, Asheville, Charlotte and more..
And folks are saying nice things the new album, Saint and Sinners:
“Mollie O’Brien is well known for her superb alto, which has all the tonality, timbre, and sustain of a fine musical instrument. Add Moore’s outstanding guitar playing and an all-star cast of musicians to accompany the pair, and the album is a real treat…Only Mollie O’Brien, with her fluid ability to be at home each genre, and Rich Moore, who perfectly complements her, could pull off such a superb presentation of such a diverse collection…this is a landmark recording of Americana music.”
Driftwood Magazine
“…a rich and fascinating listening experience. I was particularly impressed with Don’t Bother Me. George Harrison wrote the song as a mid-tempo rocker for the Beatles, but here it becomes a ballad, and the lyric reveals a depth that was missing from the original. This also depends on O’Brien’s performance to bring it out, and she succeeds beautifully

“Mollie doesn’t recognize a lot of musical boundaries, and has no problem with unburdening herself of an affecting performance in any style she decides to tackle… Saints & Sinners is beautiful to behold.”
The Bluegrass Special
“Moore’s fingerpicking is impeccable throughout. The songs on Saint & Sinners come from everywhere. Tunes by Richard Thompson, George Harrison, Harry Nilsson and and Jesse Winchester join two originals. Her rendition of the the Winchester song “Lonely for a While,” feels very much like a set piece plucked from a 1930s musical, so delicate yet with a light bounce. Again, Mollie’s delivery made me understand the words and emotions in a way I never did before…”
Vintage Guitar
“You’re unlikely to encounter another singer like this any time soon, and the music is seductive to a fault, half boozy with rustic sensibility and sensuality. Most definitely a best of the year showcase contender for top honors, “Saints & Sinners” is a rare delight that re-pegs the mark in the same fashion as Joni Mitchell’s Court and Spark, Rickie Lee Jones’ debut, anything by Baez, Janis Ian’s At Seventeen, and a few other treasures the female voice has previously achieved. Miss it at your peril.”

“For their first album as a duo, ‘Saints and Sinners,’ Mollie O’Brien and Rich Moore have assembled a rich assortment of little-heard folk, gospel and blues tunes that they hope to bring to a wider audience. Some original tunes enhance the mix with O’Brien and Moore’s own unique voices…a tasty set.”
Philadelphia Inquirer
“Duo offers solid harmonies against their front porch folk style.”
