Molly Tuttle Premieres Video for “You Didn’t Call My Name”
To say Molly Tuttle has been busy in 2017 would be an understatement. The songwriter and virtuosic musician released a new EP, Rise, in June and made history when she became the first woman to win IBMA’s Guitar Player of the Year award at this year’s ceremony. As busy as she was, Tuttle still found a little time to shoot a music video for her Rise track “You Didn’t Call My Name,” which ND is happy to premiere below.
The video shows Tuttle singing and playing guitar along to the wistful track in the back of a truck on a quiet evening. Tuttle and director Bill Filipiak shot the video in downtown Franklin, TN, a scenic suburb just south of Nashville. Throughout the clip, viewers can catch glimpses of Franklin landmarks like the historic Franklin Theatre.
“Filming this video while driving through Franklin was such a blast,” Tuttle says. “I played and sang in the back of Bill’s truck and we rode around until he thought we had enough footage to use. I love all the beautiful lights and the movie theater that we passed downtown, and it was the exact scene I was envisioning when I wrote ‘You Didn’t Call My Name.'”
