Multi-Instrumentalist And Singer/Songwriter Calvin Arsenia Shares “Headlights”
Calvin Arsenia, the Kansas City born and raised, harpist, singer and multi-instrumentalist has released a beautifully written, soft and enchanting new track,“Headlights”. The song is the first single from his upcoming music/art project Cantaloupe.
“Headlights” is Calvin’s response to years of looking for love in all the wrong places and then realizing that self-love and a sense of self worth as he says, “..is not contingent upon someone else’s participation.” The track resonates Calvin’s undeniable sensibility and romanticism with its lush and ambient delivery.
Calvin began life in the suburbs of Kansas city and as an African-American man, with a towering stature, (he is 6’6) he often found himself feeling like an outlier within his small neighborhood. Refusing to accept this experience as alienating, he turned to music to explore and make sense of his situation. While initially gravitating towards piano and guitar, Calvin Arsenia found a unique outlet for his creativity in the Celtic harp.
Cantaloupe is set to be released in October, Calvin will be having a show for the release on 9/15 at historic Gem Theater in Kansas City.
