    Nashaat Salman’s new EP “Unforgettable,” is just that. With an epic beauty that haunts throughout the songs, Salman takes center stage as both a songwriter, composer and performer.

     

    “Unforgettable,” by Nashaat Salman featuring Lakieta Bagwell is a brilliant composition filled with elegance and grandeur. It’s an emotionally climatic piece that sends you on a roller coaster of feelings. The piano retains such a gracious sense of etiquette, it’s not exaggerated or overly mannered; the tempo coupled with ensemble, and the vocals all seem effortlessly and intuitively right. Lakieta’s voice is and instrument in its own right; full and rich, her notes are imperious yet vulnerable.  

    While the string sound is lucid, the horns add a warmth to the continuo. It’s very clear this song was composed rather than just “produced,” each note is architecturally structured to paint a vivid picture of happiness, sadness, and longing. The song is in short, sincere and poised and the vocal stylings of Lakieta Bagwell only add to the beauty that is “Unforgettable.”
