Another day, another cool release announcement. This one comes courtesy of Steve Martin, who will drop the awesomely titled The Long-Awaited Album with the Steep Canyon Rangers on September 22.
Releasing via Rounder Records, the album is Martin’s most recent musical release since 2015’s So Familiar with Edie Brickell. It marks his first release with the Steep Canyon Rangers since 2014’s Live. Peter Asher, with whom Martin previously worked on 2013’s Brickell collaboration Love Will Come for You, produced the album.
Ahead of the album’s release, Martin shared a new tune, the humorous, banjo-heavy “Caroline.” “Research has shown that there are many, many songs with the title ‘Caroline,'” he joked to Rolling Stone Country. “However, this is the only good one.”
