New Band Hawktail Announce Debut Album ‘Unless’

The name Hawktail may be new to you, but the band’s players probably aren’t. Respected players Brittany Haas, Jordan Tice, Paul Kowert, and Dominick Leslie comprise the new group, who plan to release their debut album, Unless, on May 11.
Hawktail was born after fiddler Haas, bassist Kowert, and guitartist Tice decided to bring mandolin player Dominick Leslie aboard to record what would become Unless. Having previously performed together as Haas Kowert Tice, the newly formed quartet adopted the name Hawktail.
Punch Brothers’ Chris Eldridge produced the album. They recorded the tracks at, among other places, Nashville’s House of Blues studio, Nashville’s Downtown Presbyterian Church, and California venues the Old Steeple and Harlow’s.
In addition to announcing the album, the band shared tour dates and a video for Unless‘ title track, filmed at Downtown Presbyterian.
