No Depression Needs Your Support … And There’s Plenty In It For You

All year long, No Depression brings you top-quality coverage of the roots music artists and stories you care about — both on our website and in our quarterly journal. But that work isn’t free.

We count on support from our subscriptions and donations from readers to cover our costs, including paying our writers and keeping the website running smoothly.

Without that support, it goes dark.

Today we’re launching our year-end fund drive, and we humbly ask for your help. If we’ve turned you on to some great music this year, or covered an artist or album you already love, can you show us a little love in return?

Get our Fall 2023 journal plus a new issue every quarter when you subscribe to No Depression now.

We’re seeking to raise $25,000 in new donations and subscriptions by the end of 2023. Every donation counts, so we ask you to consider what No Depression is worth to you and give what you can. (Donations are tax-deductible; more about that at the end of this post.)

When you donate, you’ll be entered for a chance to win some incredible prizes courtesy of No Depression, our publisher the FreshGrass Foundation, and our music industry partners. When you give in one tier, you’ll be entered to win the prizes in that tier and all the tiers below it. For example: When you give $300, you’ll be eligible to win the prizes listed at $35 (and under), $75, $150, and $300. You can win more than one prize. So the more you give, the more chances you have to win!

Drawing will take place in early 2024, and while we’re grateful for donations from all readers, regardless of location, we’re only able to send prizes to US-based mailing addresses.

No Depression is a part of the FreshGrass Public Foundation, which is exempt from federal income taxes under Section 501(c)(3) and is classified as a public charity under Section 509(a) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations to No Depression are deductible to the maximum extent under the law.
