No Depression Sessions at Folk Alliance International 2024: Abby Litman

Los Angeles-based folksinger and Good Folk LA founder Abby Litman joined us for a mellow afternoon in the AEA Ribbon Mics room at Folk Alliance International 2024, performing two songs from her EP Steady in this No Depression Session.
Maybe it was preordained that with a last name like Litman, she’d be drawn to the literary work of poets like Edna St. Vincent Millay, Sylvia Plath, and Shel Silverstein. In this solo acoustic performance, her literary chops are on full display. There’s a delightful Poetry + Lyrics page on her website, including lyrics to both of the songs heard in this ND session, that doesn’t really differentiate between songs and poems, presenting them side by side as equal works of art.
In addition to her own music, Litman is no stranger to seeking, finding, and gathering talented artists together around her. She booked and hosted one of the showcase rooms at Folk Alliance and has produced dozens of Good Folk LA shows dating back to 2017.
Setlist:
“Lose Myself”
“Steady”
