The fall chill didn’t hit New York City until unseasonably late, but October still blew in a ton of cool music. And many of these artists took their time between releases. Singer-songwriter and October Spotlight artist Joy Clark released her debut album after years of exciting singles and EPs. Country rock band Lone Justice returned after decades away from music. And a number of other solo singer-songwriters like Haley Heynderickx, Laura Marling, and Mindy Smith all shared new music after anywhere from three to 12 years.
