Nellie’s November 1 performance on Mt. Stage will be broadcast this week on your fav NPR and indie stations. In West Virginia it will be 3-5 PM ET, Sunday November 29. In New York it will be 2-4 PM ET, Friday December 4 on WFUV. As the headliner, she’ll take the stage about 85 minutes into the show. The setlist includes 7 songs from the new record: If I Ever Had a Dream, Wonderful Guy, Meditation, Sentimental Journey, Black Hills of Dakota, Mean to Me, Crazy Rhythm. And on the finale Nellie joins Larry Groce & all the other evening’s performers on “Que Sera Sera.”
Doug Payne’s inventive sax playing during the set also deserves your attention. The rest of the Mt. Stage band sparkles as well.
Nellie’s set will also be available for streaming on the NPR Music site throughout the coming week. In a couple of weeks, the show will be available as a podcast form the Mt. Stage site.
Tuesday December 1 will be Rosanne Cash Day on WFUV in New York. The station will be featuring her music throughout the day and from 9 PM till 10 PM ET the always literate Rita Houston will host a live session from Studio A.
