Pacific Northwestern Kindness
I had a show last night on Bainbridge Island, WA at a place called the Pegaus Cafe. Up till now I’ve only played my stuff in California and I am amazed at the plain niceness of the people I met here. Everyone was nice. Even the “Reader in the Corner” said hi and (what? unnecessary conversation?) commented on the weather and how he was picking his daughter up from school or something. We sold a few CDs and got some tips, but the thing I appreciate the most is the open, welcoming feeling of the people here. It may just be that I’ve played in metal and rock bands for most of my musical life (I’ve only recently gone back to my musical roots) and the heavy metal crowd is more… um… well let’s just say, not as kind. I just thought I’d quickly write my appreciation here for nobody or everybody to read.
